| Neelams’s Profile
Having initiated her career as a Legal Executive, Neelam thereafter qualified as a Solicitor and also became an Advanced Member of the Family Law Panel. Prior to joining Ashley James Solicitors, Neelam set up her own legal practice.
She is a specialist within all aspects of family law to include divorce, division of assets, rushing into Court to secure emergency injunctions to prevent disposition of marital finances, issues surrounding children following the breakdown of relationships whether it is to represent parents of the children or grandparents to include emergency applications where the child is in danger or there is a fear the child will be removed from England and Wales, or where an application to the Court is required for permission to relocate to another country, financial disputes between cohabitants, pre-nuptial and post-separation agreements, and obtaining injunctions for victims of domestic abuse.
With over 16 years experience in the field and the ability to speak other languages, Neelam has sound knowledge and experience in this area of law. Neelam is extremely approachable, down to earth and provides realistic advice in a supportive manner. She takes time to listen and understand the issues that affect clients. Clients have commented that they value her sensitive but forthright approach and her ability to effectively deal with challenging situations when required.
Neelam will say she is keen to help couples at all stages of their relationship. Whether that be preparing a pre-nuptial or living together agreement or trying to prevent disagreements if separation occurs later. She efficiently guides couples through the process of divorce/separation and seeks to lessen the financial and emotional consequences of what can be a traumatic experience.
In her spare time Neelam takes interest in charitable organisations and works closely with the Citizens Advice Bureau and in the past Women’s Aid, she enjoys travelling and embracing different cultures.
